The internet now is similar to the way the record and radio industry was in the 1950's. Back then, you could break an unknown artist just through airplay because the radio stations were largely independent as opposed to automated chains run by multinational corporations. I'm not saying Tay Zonday is the new LIttle Richard or Buddy Holly or Johnny Cash, but at least there is a way to get discovered without going on American Idol.
